NICK NDEDA describes himself as an artist and he believes that we are building the right structures in the Media Industry. Unfortunately, he rates Crocs very low, but luckily for me, Mutura is perfect. He wouldn’t Mind Being Britney Spear’s House-husband. Yes, you can wear a Wig if it perfectly fits your head and face. Uncut Interviews

Q. How would you describe yourself? You are a presenter, writer, actor and so much more…

I describe myself as an artist. Everything I do is art inclined so I try not to box myself. I’m just an artist. But artists are deep.

Q. Have you ever desired to do something else apart from your ‘media’ creative side

No. Apart from being Britney Spears’ househusband!

Q.  How would you describe the Kenyan Media Industry?

In its infancy. We are still building the structures. But so far so good.

Q. What has changed and what has not changed since you Joined the media industry

There are more shows on. When I joined the only shows were Reflections on KBC and Wingu La Moto on NTV. Nowadays there are more opportunities for more actors so it can only get better. This is such a good time to be an actor, we have more movies and TV shows than ever before. I’m excited.

Q. Are we elevating as an industry in general or what would you wish changed

The one thing we have to work on is the writing. The technical part is sorted we just need to make the stories better. Also, the pay has to get better.

Q. Is there professionalism in the media industry?

What does professionalism mean to you?

Professionalism is all about doing what needs to be done and done right. There are people who do it well. More and more are making it a better environment.

“Winning Best Actor at the Kenya Theatre Awards was a dream come true. 17 years in the game and it was for a play I absolutely loved. I was truly honored and humbled“.

Q. About working with Remmy Majala on what’s good Africa the NTV show?..

The best experience. Remmy is an amazing talent and the format and nature of the show is amazing. The guests are great and the team What’s Good Media are very ambitious and I like that.

Q. You Are Now Scripting Music Videos? Maandy Is a Very Talented Artist…

So, I DM’d Maandy after I heard the song “Forbidden Fruit” and asked to feature in the video because I love the song. Next thing she says she would like if I could write the script for it and I jumped at it.

Q. About ‘Kaz’ and Kenya theatre awards…

“Kaz” was an amazing experience. I served as script editor and had one dope scene. Sharon Mwangi was amazing in it.

Winning Best Actor at the Kenya Theatre Awards was a dream come true. 17 years in the game and it was for a play I absolutely loved. I was truly honored and humbled.

Q. Your best or most memorable project so far…

Theatre: Butterflies Are Free – a play where I played a blind musician. I spent a month at the school for the blind learning braille and how to walk with blindfolds. It helped mold the character and it was a great show. Special shout out to Nice Githinji who was my co-actor.

Screen: MTV Shuga- I played a sheng speaking thug turned rapper. And as you know my sheng and Kiswahili is wanting! I spent weeks in eastlands and listening to ghetto radio. I remember eating soke; Food at a kibanda that got me sick. I wrote rap songs and hung out with some dope artists. And Shirleen Wangari was the best co-star ever.

Q. What’s your view on drugs and alcohol?

To each their own.

Q. What’s your take on the Kenyan Film Industry

It’s getting better but can get so much better.

(Would you rather)

Q. Would you rather have a sing-off with Ariana Grande or a dance-off with Rihanna?

Dance off with Riri so I can watch her kill me with a baby bump!

Q. You wish there was the ministry of…………………. What would you do with it?

Fries. Coz I’d be the minister for life and refuse to leave like Mugabe or Museveni
