Netflix is shutting down all services in Russia. According to News24, the streaming giant Netflix is shutting its operations in Russia.
Netflix will join other major global entertainment companies like Apple, in pulling out of the market following the attack on Ukraine.
No new customers will be able to sign up. It’s unclear what will happen with the existing accounts, the company said. The service has under one million customers in Russia.
Video platform TikTok has also temporarily banned new video creation as well as live videos. This is in response to Russia’s ‘fake news new law’.
“In light of Russia’s new ‘fake news’ law, we have no choice but to suspend livestreaming and new content to our video service while we review the safety implications of this law,” TikTok writes on Twitter. “Our in-app messaging service will not be affected.”
