Artist, Fashionista and Entrepreneur Rikhado Makhado, popularly known as Riky Rick, was given a send-off today. This is one week after his passing. The rapper died last week due to apparent suicide.
Close Friends and family gathered to celebrate his life at a private church service in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Riky Rick’s wife, Bianca, delivered a touching tribute, referring to him as her partner, pillar of the family and the best dad to their kids.
“He often said I was saving his life without realizing that he too was saving mine”.
“My king, my heart, my forever love, thank you for giving us all that you had to give in this lifetime. Thank you for choosing me, teaching me and for believing in us”, She said.
They were together for nine years and have two children Jordan (13) and Maik (8).
His stepfather thanked him for allowing him to be his ‘father’.
“Thank you for sharing your anger and heartbreak at the injustice and corruption in our country, during our last conversation. I wish it did not drive you to such sadness and depression”.
Riky’s cousin described him as “caring, gentle, humble, humorous, extremely talented, a man of faith, and an amazing listener.
The church ceremony was streamed live. It was available on different platforms including YouTube.
Riky was cremated after the funeral service. A memorial service will be held on Friday, his fans and industry peers will pay tribute to him.
